Ally Ally Oh

I was born in Cherry Hinton just outside Cambridge and my sister’s and I played outside our house in Mill End Road.(1950’s) We played 2 ball up against the wall of the house opposite which we also used to play the Ally Ally Oh, I learnt to skip and ride a bike. I have a vague memory of my big sister teaching me to jive. I did play marbles but was never very good. We went fishing for minnows in the stream at the end of the road. I made a den in the hedge by the stream with my friend Louise. My little sister Jo got into trouble for getting her best dress muddy. Mary, March 2023
