To the north, building continued with an additional 25 acres between Arbury Road and King’s Hedges being sanctioned in 1965. There were inevitably problems – as with flooding at the Edgecombe flats in 1968 – and development on allotments across Histon Road for the McManus Estate and at Church End, Cherry Hinton.’ Photograph shows boys making walkways over the flood waters.
