This playlaw was suggested by a member of the public who attended a playing out session hosted by Playbox on Coleridge Rec in July 2023.

In common superstition, we usually salute magpies in an attempt to ward off bad luck. (1) However, this plaque calls for a greeting to all birds, by way of respect and friendship. Bird populations have depleted by 73 million in the last 50 years (2) due to changes in agricultural practices and land use.

How will you choose to greet your feathered friends?
