‘Back down to earth and even areas such as Kendal Way can experience problems with encroachment on the pavement – this time by inconsiderate drivers in February 1966. Cambridge’s City Surveyor T V Burrows pointed out that the houses had be built before the Second World War, when there were fewer cars on the roads and that the council was considering allowing cars to be parked in front gardens, although this could be regarded as injurious to the estate’s amenities.’
